My art works are drawn from mental images inspired by my dreams and my religious beliefs. For me, art is the language I use to communicate two very different views – a fantasy world and a spiritual world. My hope is that people will enjoy my works as much as I enjoy creating them.
The rhythm of a piece of music, Arabian belly dancing, Egyptian jewelry, gemstones. These are the influences that help me shape and design my versatile jewelry. Seldom do I start with a firm idea of what my final design will be. I begin with a sketch, but this is merely the first step. My works come together as pieces find each other through associations in my mind.
My paintings are combinations of vibrant contrasting colors, lines, and shapes, including abstract and geometric forms. I find a great deal of freedom and personal expression with abstraction and enjoy painting in layers. Slightly thinning my paint for transparency, I let the textures and colors build to create depth and under-glowing effects.
I create the art and hope that it touches the individual on a deeply personal level. When that happens, I have succeeded in my goal. Each piece of jewelry or painting is the end result of a journey. I hope you enjoy traveling with me.
